Our story began one morning outside a Court House in Brooklyn Heights:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In began as an ordinary day in the midst of one more busy work week.&nbsp;Pat, until then concerned only with thoughts regarding that day’s trials, noticed Patricia descending the Court House steps.&nbsp;He was smitten.&nbsp;They passed on the sidewalk.&nbsp;Their eyes met.&nbsp;Then an ordinary day became the day their lives changed.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A week went by.&nbsp;Or maybe two.&nbsp;For Pat it seemed an eternity.&nbsp;Until, at the Court Officer’s annual party, he spotted Patricia (In truth he’d only gone to the party in the hopes of finding her there).&nbsp;But he was too awestruck to approach her- until one of his Court Officer friends arranged a clumsy introduction.&nbsp;They said hello.&nbsp;Then got to talking.&nbsp;Yes, they both liked the song that was playing.&nbsp;Her parents were from Ireland.&nbsp;Really, so were his.&nbsp;Somehow Pat found the courage to ask if he might take her out sometime.&nbsp;She said yes.&nbsp;&nbsp;To his amazement Patricia said yes!&nbsp;&nbsp;Their courtship began with a lunch date at Eamon Doran’s Restaurant on Montague Street.&nbsp;Followed by more lunch dates, then dinner dates, Broadway shows, and long walks through the streets of Manhattan.&nbsp;Oh, it was a promising romance!&nbsp;But fate had other plans and it’s heavy hand pulled them apart.&nbsp;&nbsp;Their story might have ended there.&nbsp;But Pat, he could never forgot the beautiful Irish girl who’d stolen his heart.&nbsp;There was never a day he didn’t think of her, never a day he didn’t miss her.&nbsp;Time, he learned, does not heal all heartaches.&nbsp;One year at Christmas, out of the blue, he mailed her a card depicting a snow-covered Brooklyn Bridge.&nbsp;She’d loved that bridge, he remembered, and he’d loved walking across it with her.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A few days later he received a gift that even Santa couldn’t match—a Christmas Card from the girl of his fondest dreams!&nbsp;Then one phone call- that was all it took.&nbsp;They’d found their way back to each other.&nbsp;This time they weren’t letting go.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;On an August evening, holding hands as the sun set over a beach at Sag Harbor, they fell in love!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Through the years that followed they shared the joy of holidays and special occasions, traveled the seven seas, and made a lifetime’s worth of memories.&nbsp;When life brought challenges they faced them together and supported each other while their love grew stronger and deeper.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;June 22, 2025.&nbsp;It began as an ordinary day in the midst of a busy weekend.&nbsp;At an outdoor table under the awning of a restaurant on Montague Street they watched the rain falling.&nbsp;The maître d brought two glasses of champagne then, trying to conceal a smile, hurried away.&nbsp;Pat lifted his glass.&nbsp;“Patricia, it was here, in Brooklyn Heights, where I first saw the most beautiful woman in the world.&nbsp;More importantly, over the years, I came to know that you are a truly beautiful human being.&nbsp;You’re my friend, my partner, and the great love of my life.”&nbsp;He went to one knee and held out the ring.&nbsp;“Patricia, I love you, and I want to marry you.&nbsp;Will you marry me?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She said yes!&nbsp;To his amazement Patricia said yes!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Now, as we embark on the next chapter of our love story, we are grateful to you, our beloved family and friends, for sharing the most special day of our lives.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
